The Bhagvad Gita is a well-known Hindu spiritual text that is universally accepted not just for its sanctity, but also as a guide for day-to-day life i.e. “a handbook of life.” Messages from Bhagvad Gita such as: “Inaction in action and action in inaction,” are within the reach of common seeker of all ages.
Eligibility for the scholarship is extended to any student who is currently enrolled in the United States education system at the middle school and high school levels. AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPSHigh School Level – 3 or more scholarships, $201 eachMiddle School Level – 3 or more scholarships, $151 eachHOW DOES SCHOLARSHIP WORK?Specific Gita Shlokas are given on the website (hinduscholarship.org) for participants as per age group (download Gita Shlokas using link to audio files). (Only 5 Shlokas)They are required to listen to Shlokas and understand the meaningThere will be a Video conference/interview with short listed candidates on diction and meaning of ShlokasWinners will be announced via email / websiteTO APPLYFill out and submit scholarship application available on hinduscholarship.orgOne paragraph summary of your community service work from the current academic year.A transcript (official or unofficial) or report card.A recorded audio of your assigned shloka recitation in your voice in mp3 formatWrite the meaning of ‘each individual’ shloka separately and relate it to your own personal experience.
