Islamic insurgency, Pak flag waving, ISIS rallies in Kashmir hampering Amarnath Yatra registration: Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Sumitra Kaul | HENB | Delhi | June 27, 2015:: In a communication to HENB, the Jammu unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today alleged that an Islamic insurgency like situation in Kashmir by waving of Pakistani flags and holding rallies in support of  ISIS is hampering registration for annual Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage, scheduled to begin from July 2.

“It was quite apprehensive about the coming reports of ensuing Shri Amarnath Yatra, especially its number as the duration period is of two months but registration of pilgrims is at the lower indicators”, VHP State Patron and Founder Trustee of Baba Amarnath and Budha Amarnath Yatri Niyas Dr Ramakant Dubey communicated to HENB.

Dr Dubey said approximately 1.70 lakh is the latest figure of the registered devotees till date, adding, “unstable and chaotic condition prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the valley with regular hoisting of Pakistan and ISIS rallies and   flags is creating a fear psychosis among the people throughout the country.

In addition, a section of media preferring the separatist agenda is also playing a negative role, Dr Dubey said adding that the Shrine Board instead of trusting such media should see the writings on the wall.

The Shrine Board and the Government is virtually working under the pressure of separatists and other Islamic Fundamental Organisations like ISIS etc, he asserted. He did not excluded the role of ISI, the Pakistani Intelligence Agency, to promote an Islamic insurgency through out the state.

All agencies linked with the yatra do hope better results but opposite trends were emerging, he said, apprehending that anti-yatra propaganda was playing a lead role.

Earlier the Hurriyat Conference separatists demanded to restrict the duration of Shri Amarnath Yatra only for 30 days.

But, the yearly Shri Amarnath Yatra is set to be observed for the full duration of 59 days, starting from July 2nd and ending on August 29th. Mainly Hindus and Sikhs participate in Yearly Shri Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir valley with a visit to the Shri Vaishno Devi Mata at Katra in Jammu, as a follow-up rituals.

It is a change to the newly formed BJP-PDP Govt. in J&K to make a success of this pilgrimage by eliminating the Islamic threat perceptions mounted on the traditional Yatra (pilgrimage) of Shri Amarnath.
