‘Nithya Annadhanam Scheme’ launched in Jalakanteswarar temple

The Sri Jalakanteswarar Dharma Sthabanamhere has launched a `Nithya Annadhanam Scheme’ (daily free meals scheme) in the temple on Wednesday.

Sri Balamuruganadimai, hereditary trustee of Sri Balamurugan Temple, Ratnagiri and Sri Sachidananda Swamigal, Head, Kamalakanni Adheenam, Kalavai and president of the Jalakanteswarar Dharma Sthabanam inaugurated the scheme and partook of the meals along with other devotees.

S. Sureshkumar, secretary of the Sthabanam said that those devotees interested in contributing to the scheme can donate a sum of Rs.5000 per day for any day such as their birthday, wedding anniversary or the memorial day of their kith and kin on which they would like to sponsor the free meals.

Contributions have so far been received for 60 days in a year, he said.

For contribution

The secretary said that philanthropists and members of the public interested in contributing to the scheme can either visit the temple and pay the amount either by cash or cheque.

They can also remit their contributions online to Savings Bank account no.154301000004612 of Sri Jalakanteswarar Dharma Sthabanam, I.O.B., Fort Branch, Vellore (IFSC Code: IOBA00001543).
