For Sardar Patel the nation was supreme

Against the  government intervention to  reform  Waqf board Muslim organizations are sat in Jantarmantar, Delhi . Meantime, Chandrashekhar Ravan of Bheem army also joined the venue  to express his  support to them.  In the mounting heat of outrageous slogans by the demonstrators , Ravan began  to chant ‘ Jay bheem-Jay Bheem’. Outraged by the sudden interruption of this kind, many in the vicinity accosted him to say that he needn’t have to  play his brand of politics there. Chandrashekhar Ravan even  though tried  to stick to his stance making hustle with protestors but in vain.
How much lesson Bheem army learned  from the incident, let it  be left to them to  know. However, it well reminds again what Sardar Patel once said . According to him ,   when  the Muslim as a community so well-knit that they have so much power to bring about partition of the country in face of all kind of the  resistance, how could they be treated as deprived or a weaker section of a community needing  the benefits as  a minority  from the State. Now, thereby, the question like  the provision of minority right to them gets to be null and void itself.

The life of whom was one with the ‘ Nation first mindset’, such an inspiring leader Sardar Patel was born on 31st October, 1875 in Nadiad Gujrat. Having finished school education , and earned degree of law from Middle Temple London he grew up  to be a Barrister. However his engagement  had been more in politics as a Congress party activist. In the party his popularity rose to the top when in 1946 out of total 15 Congress committees of the country , as high as  12 preferred to chose him for the forthcoming President of the party  than Nehru.  On this Nehru refused to work as a number 2 position under anybody. Then only Sardar Patel withdrew his name from the candidature on the persuasion of Gandhiji.

At the time of departure of British that   the dynasts had the options of either being merged with the Pakistan or India,  or to remain free sovereign state. But , holding the duel portfolios of   Deputy Prime minister and  Home ministership ,  disallowing  any  chance of getting seceded or else , Sardar Patel  got to have firmly merged all the small 554 princely states into India . He   fulfilled the responsibility of getting  the displaced Hindu refugees settled in the country , so also . Saving Junagadh from going out of hands, he  merged with the brute hands the Nizam of Hyderabad using military whereas Nehru had been in favour of allowing him (Nizam) to take decision himself.  Also it was because of Nehru that the issue of Jammu-Kashmir got to be complex as it was under him, leaving Sardar Patel utter helpless.
