40 British University students gathered at VHP temple to be educated further about the Hinduism

vhpMore than 150 devotees of the Hindu faith from 40 British universities gathered at the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Temple to practice, promote, preserve and protect the religion.

The National Hindu Students’ Forum UK (NHSF) helped organise the event on March 8 at the Cleveland Road temple, which lasted for six hours with continuous singing and chanting.

The aim of the day was to teach the Hindu faith’s next generation to carry out selfless acts – or “Sewa”.

Jaimal Patel, 22, of the NHSF, said: “It is all about students coming together and singing.

“It is really hard for them to come in front of the community and sing.”

Every hour another group of students would lead the devotees in songs and chants.

“It was fantastic to see and also to see them involved and understand how we worship Lord Krishna,” added Mr Patel
