Today a group of ladies from RSS-SevaBharathi went on a counselling mission in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th streets of Aadhi Andhra Colony and Kalyanapuram near Basin Bridge.
As we moved around the houses, we heard few distress voices that complained. Many of them were still not sure of where to get their Community Certificate and they were unable to get any help from the local councillor.
On the brighter side we could see hopes brimming on majority of the people’s voice. Nagendra Selvi a roadside food vendor has lost nearly all her belongings but yet she is able to run the shop with whatever is left over.
We could see that rising hope even at WoodWarf, WallTax Road areas. People over there particularly ladies are hard workers. Most of them are small time food vendors. They make food at home and that caters to the need of many lorry drivers. Few of them sells balloon and lead a peaceful life. Over all we could see a self content community that manages to run life on their own.
People there felt the Angaalamman Temple there was not renovated on time after the rainy floods. Ladies including the recently converted have expressed their willingness to maintain the temple and are willing to involve themselves in socio-religious activities based out of that temple.
ஆர்.எஸ்.எஸ். சேவாபாரதி அமைப்பைச் சேர்ந்த மகளிர் குழு சமீபத்திய வெள்ளம் பாதித்தப் பகுதிகளுக்குச் சென்று மக்களை நேரடியாகத் தொடர்பு கொண்டு அவர்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் கூறியும், அவர்களது வாழ்வு இயல்பு நிலைக்குத் திரும்பத் தேவையான விவரங்கள் குறித்துக் கணக்கெடுப்பு நடத்தியும் வருகின்றனர்.
அவ்வகையில் இன்று ஒரு சேவாபாரதி குழு பேஸின் ப்ரிட்ஜ் பகுதியில் உள்ள கல்யாணபுரம் மற்றும் ஆதி ஆந்திரா காலனியின் அனைத்துத் தெருக்களுக்கும் சென்றனர். ஜாதிச் சான்றிதழ் எங்கு கிடைக்கும் என்பதற்கான வழிகாட்டுதல் இல்லாமல் பலரும் தவிக்கின்றனர். குழுவினர் அதற்கான தகவலை கொடுத்தனர்.
நாகேந்திர செல்வி என்ற பெண்மணியை சேவாபாரதி குழுவினர் சந்தித்தனர். அவர் சாலையோர உணவகம் ஒன்றை நடத்தி வந்தார். அவரது வீட்டிலிருந்த பெரும்பாலான உடைமைகள் வெள்ளத்தில் அடித்துச் செல்லப்பட்டிருந்தாலும், இருப்பவற்றைக் கொண்டு சமாளித்து அவர் தனது தொழிலைத் தொடர்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார்.
வால்டாக்ஸ் சாலை, வுட்வார்ஃஃப் பகுதிகளிகளில் உள்ள மக்கள், குறிப்பாகப் பெண்கள் மிக நன்றாக உழைப்பதைக் காணமுடிந்தது. அங்குள்ள சிலர் பலூன் விற்றுப் பிழைக்கிறார்கள். பெரும்பாலானோர் தங்களது வீடுகளில் சமைத்துத் தெருவோரக் கடைகளில் உணவு வியாபாரம் செய்து வருகின்றனர். வாகன ஓட்டுனர்கள் பலரும் இவர்களது கடைகளால் பயன் பெறுகின்றனர்.
இப்பகுதி மக்கள் தங்களது வாழ்வாதாரத்திற்குப் பிறரை எதிர்பாராமல் தத்தமது உழைப்பை நம்பியே வாழ்கிறார்கள். மொத்தத்தில் இப்பகுதி மக்களிடையே நம்பிக்கையைத் தளரவிடாத மன உறுதியும், தளராது உழைக்கும் தன்மையும் தென்படுகிறது.
வெள்ளத்திற்குப் பிறகு அப்பகுதியிலுள்ள அங்காளம்மன் கோவில் புனரமைக்கப்படாதது குறித்துப் பலரும் வருத்தம் தெரிவித்தனர். கோவில் பழைய நிலைக்குத் திரும்பினால் தினசரி விளக்கேற்றி வழிபட வேண்டுமென்ற எண்ணம் அவர்களிடையே நிலவுகிறது. கோவிலை மையமாக வைத்து சமூக – ஆன்மிகப் பணிகளை மேற்கொள்வதற்கு அங்குள்ள மாற்றுமதத்தைத் தழுவியவர்கள் உட்படப் பல பெண்கள் தயாராக இருப்பதைக் காணமுடிந்தது.
