: Sangh Parivar organisations took out a march in the city on Monday demanding action against those involved in the attack on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at Vazhoor and a hospital at Ramanattukara the other day.

Hundreds of activists took out the march from Jayprakash Narayan Road to Kidson Corner. RSS leader P. Harishkumar, who inaugurated the march, alleged that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers had carried out the attacks on the BJP after the latter made strides in the three-tier local bodies polls in the district.

The BJP’s victory at Vazhoor had flustered the CPI(M), thereby attacking the party men. However, such attacks would not weaken the BJP. The attacks were masterminded by two district level leaders of the CPI(M), Mr. Harishkumar alleged. The police should take stern action against the culprits, he said.

RSS district leaders Jenil Kumar and Appukuttan were brutally attacked. BJP district president P. Reghunath and RSS leader P. Baiju addressed the protesters.
