“ACHARYA” AWARD TO SADHU PROF. V. RANGARAJAN

T.N. Kumaraswamy Foundation of Chennai, named after the renowned writer, author and translator of the works of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, Rabindranatrh Tagore and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose from Bengali to Tamil, conferred on Sadhu Prof. V. Rangarajan, a “Life-time Achievement Award” and title of “Acharya” on the occasion of the 108th birthday celebrations of Sri T.N. Kumaraswami at Chennai on Sunday, February 28, 2016.
The citation presented on the occasion says, “The title ‘Achaarya’ is conferred to SHRI SADHU RANGARAJAN, the Founder of Sister Nivedita Acadamy and Bharata Mata Temple at Bangalore, disciple of H.H. Yogi Ramsuratkumar, Tiruvannamalai, for doing excellent service towards propagation of Spirituality and Hinduism both in India and Abroad. Ta. Na. Kumaraswami Foundation is honoured by giving this Life Time Achievement Award to him”, and is signed by Sri T.K. Aswinikumar, Founder-President.

The Award giving function was organized by the Foundation along with Nationalist Writers’ Association, marking the inauguration of the Tamilnadu Chapter of the Association. Sri L. Ganeshan, National
Executive Committee Member of Bharatiya Janata Party was the Chief Guest and Dr. V.S. Subramaniam, Former Principal of Vivekananda College, Chennai, presided over the function which was also addressed by Dr. Vishranth Vasishth, Naional Convener of Nationalist Writers’ Asssociation.

Sri L. Ganeshan released on the occasion Sadhu Rangarajan’s two recent publications—HINDU RASHTRA to which Sri Mohan Bhagawat, Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has written Foreword and PHILOSOPHY OF MAHAKAVI BHARATI to which renowned writer and research scholar, Dr. Prema Nandakumar has written Foreword. Sri Pe. Su. Mani, renowned author and authority on Mahakavi Bharati, honoured Sadhu Rangarajan by presenting his works on Bharati and Swami Vivekananda to Sadhu.
