Attempt to build a mosque by grabbing a Hindu temple’s land
 
Dhaka:: Tension among the people of Gendaria area of the capital city Dhaka aroused due to attempt to build a mosque in a endowed land of a Hindu temple.

Local people say that there was a temple previously. Its holding number is 31 of Moticharan Road at Word no. 46 of Gendaria in Dhaka. Now local Muslims have arranged to build a mosque here.

Hearing this issue the leaders of local Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council visited the place and filed a general diary (GD) in the local police station.

Following this while the police authority visited the spot today (Sunday), more tension spread out among the local people.

The local Hindu people argue that there was a temple previously and this is an endowed property.

Five persons including Millbarack Social Welfare Organisation leased the endowed land. The president of the organization Mr. Martuza argues that there was no temple.

Local Muslims occupied the land and started their prayer on last Friday. Today (Sunday) they have had their midday prayer (Johar Namaz) at the disputed land.

But after the GD in Gendaria police station tension spread out among the locality. Police tried to keep peace in there.

Local Muslims informed that there was no temple and they will build a mosque there.
