Bajrang Dal seeks Bidar DC’s apology for ‘comments’ on Ram, Sita

Bidar, Nov 5, 2013, DHNS :

Bajarang Dal on Tuesday sought a public apology from Bidar deputy commissioner P C Jaffer for allegedly posting certain comments on Lord Ram and Sita on social networking site Facebook on November 3 while extending Deepawali greetings to his friends and well wishers.

Releasing the copies of the purpoted post, Bajrang Dal district unit convener Nileesh Rakshal and taluk convener Vinod Patil said Jaffer had hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus by making ‘derogatory’ comments. They said Jaffer, who is also the district magistrate, had used words such as “dude and babe” while referring to Lord Ram and Sita.

They said they have written to the President, Prime Minister and Karnataka Chief Minister, seeking sanction to prosecute the IAS officer under Sections 153-A, 295, 295-A, 501 (b) and 502(b) of Indian Penal Code.

Bajrang Dal has threatned to launch an agitation if the IAS officer fails to tender a public apology. It has also urged the State government to remove him from the post of deputy commissioner.

Jaffer was not reachable when Deccan Herald tried to get his reaction. However, in a SMS he has reportedly sent to some journalists, Jaffer mentioned that he had made these comments not to disrespect anybody but to highlight how ignorant the new generation was about our culture.
