51 Hindu families get TK20,000 each
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday has distributed cheques worth Tk20, 000 among 51 Hindu families each, who fell prey of post-2013 poll violence in the district’s Malopara area.
The premier distributed the cheques while visiting the affected people of the area in the afternoon.
Reaching Nawapara Degree College ground by a helicopter around 2pm, the PM directly went to Malopara to console the victims of the violent attack.
Calling upon the affected people of the Hindu community, she said: “You have to resist the culprits with united efforts.
The land is yours, the government is with you so you have all rights to live here peacefully,” she added.
Meanwhile, she assured the affected Hindus that the culprits would soon be brought under trial.
Later, she addressed a public rally at Nawapara Shankarpasha High School and vowed to curb militancy and terrorism in the country
