INDIA, March 16, 2021 : For devotees who have been waiting to know the dates that the doors to the revered temple sites of Shri Kedarnath, Shri Badrinath, Shri Yamunotri, and Shri Gangotri – here is the list of their respective dates. These Hindu temples are closed every year during the harshest months of winter when it becomes dangerous and difficult for devotees to negotiate the path through the Himalayan treks. The opening dates for the Char Dham Yatra of 2021 were announced by the temple committee of Char Dham. These dates mark the opening of the Char Dham portals and when the murti of the presiding Deity of the respective temples reside within.
Yamunotri Dham: Shri Yamunotri Temple- Kapat opening date will be on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya (probably in the mid of May 2021.
Gangotri Dham: Shri Gangotri Temple- Kapat opening date will be on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya (probably in the mid of May 2021)
Kedarnath Dham: The kapat of Shri Kedarnath Dham will open on 17th May 2021.
Badrinath Dham: The Kapat of Shri Badarinath Dham will Open on 18th May 2021.
The government has not put any restrictions on the number of pilgrims but devotees must follow Covid-19 safety norms throughout the yatra period.
