Bhagyanagar (Simandhra) – Information has been exposed that the Charity (Dharmaday) department of the Government is conspiring to give the possession of 10,800 sq.ft. land belonging to the ancient temple of Shri Ranganath Swami, situated at Bandimet in Ramgopal Peth here. It is worth some millions of rupees in the market today. There is a Navgrah Mandap and a Hanuman temple in the vicinity of the temple where ritualistic worship is being conducted since ancient times.
Bhagyanagar Municipality and the Charity department are mutually conspiring to swallow the land of Shri Ranganath Swami. Accordingly, a list of old buildings in the city was prepared in the year 2013. The then Municipal Commissioner Krushna Babu issued an order to demolish the old buildings. Shri Rangamath Swami temple too was included in that list. Thereafter the officers of the Municipality and the Dharmaday department pulled down the entrance of the temple, Raja Gopuram. MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav of Telagu Desam paid a visit to this place. When a complaint was made to the Dharmaday department, they assured to cancel the order of demolishing the temple.
