Nagpur (Maharashtra) : The Congress Government spent Rs. 1 crore to form a committee for propagation of anti-superstitions Act headed by Prof. Shyam Manav but this Government committee is busy in hurting religious sentiments of Warkari Sect rather than propagation of this Act; it has been only making objectionable comments criticizing Dharma and Saints; therefore, such committee set up at the cost of the Government, spreading atheism by inciting religious sentiments of Warkaris and religious people should be immediately dissolved. Rashtriya Warkari Sena and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) jointly held a press conference and placed this demand before the BJP- Shiv Sena Government. It was also informed that the demand would be conveyed through personal meetings with Shri. Devendra Fadanvis, the Chief Minister, Minister for Social Justice and Ministers of Shiv Sena.

A press conference was held at Tilak Patrakar Bhavan, Nagpur which was attended by H.B.P. Devrao Vanave (Joint Secretary, Rashtriya Warkari Sena), Dr. Shrirampant Sonolikar (philosopher and scientist from Warkari Sampradaya), Shri. Sunil Ghanavat (State Convener of HJS), Shri. Arvind Pansare (HJS spokesperson) and Shri. Shrikant Pisolkar (HJS District Coordinator for Vidarbha) who also addressed the press conference. 21 journalists attended this conference.

Prof. Shyam Manav should not mislead people ! – Dr. Sonolikar

During a program held on behalf of the Government using Government machinery, Prof. Manav gave completely false information in the context of Sant Dnyaneshwar making a buffalo recite ‘Vedas’ as Prof. Manav stated that Sant Dnyaneshwar did not have any supernatural powers due to Yoga. Such statements are wrong and can provoke religious sentiments. If a parrot is taught to speak, it also starts talking our language; therefore, we have full faith that a great revered personality like Sant Dnyaneshwar could have made a buffalo recite ‘Vedas’ and Prof. Manav should not spread misleading information.

The Government should take action on resolutions passed by Warkaris ! – H.B.P. Vanave Maharaj

Maharashtra is the land of Saints. Why the State Government is preparing a platform to a person for attacking Warkaris’ faith when such person is an atheist and has no knowledge of Hindu Dharma ? During Warkari Maha-adhiveshan held at Alandi, a resolution was passed demanding dissolution of the Committee led by Prof. Shyam Manav for criticizing Saints like Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram in an offensive manner. The Government should act on that resolution.

Clarification is required about the motive of the Government and financial aid extended to the Committee !  – Shri. Sunil Ghanavat

Prof. Shyam Manav was imprisoned for a day and fined for writing wrong things about Dr. P. V. Vartak from Pune. Under clause 56 of Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950, no person detained for proven criminal offence can be appointed on any public committee or trust as a member and if that is done, the post gets automatically cancelled. It is therefore, against the law to appoint Manav on this committee and we are bringing it to the Government’s notice. The rules and regulations under anti-superstitions Act are not yet ready; then on what basis the then Congress Government formed such committee and made available fund of Rs. 1 crore to it ? We need clarification on this. Instead of propagating anti-superstitions Act, Prof. Shyam Manav is propagating his ‘Akhil Bharatiya Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti’ at the cost of the Government; by displaying its hoardings with own big photo. He is spreading anti-Hindu Dharma thoughts. Warkari and Keertankars have been creating awareness amongst people against superstitions without taking any money from the Government; but Prof. Manav needs Rs. 1 crore for his social (?) service. The committee headed by a person accused of misappropriation of funds in his own Trust, should be dissolved, was the demand made by Shri. Sunil Ghanavat.
