Gang attacks Hindu Munnani member in Tamil Nadu

hindu_munnaniMADURAI: A Hindu Munnani member in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu was admitted to hospital after an unidentified gang attacked him with lethal weapons on Monday night.
Police said the gang attacked Shankar Ganesh — an executive committee member of Hindu Munnani’s Dindigul unit — in front of his friend’s shop near the head post office.
The assailants had been waiting for him. They attacked him as he was walking towards the shop after parking his two-wheeler on the roadside. The gang members escaped after the attack.
Ganesh was rushed to Dindigul Government Hospital, from where he was referred to a private hospital in Madurai.
As the news about the attack spread, Hindu Munnani members thronged the Government Hospital and blocked roads. Some miscreants resorted to violence and pelted stones at government buses. Police said at least 12 buses were damaged.

The Dindigul town police registered a case and were investigating.
Incidentally, the attack was the second one on Monday night targeting a Hindu outfit member in Tamil Nadu after VHP Hosur unit secretary R Suri was hacked to death by a gang.
