Mumbai, March 1, 2014: In a simple function in Mumbai, Hindu Helpline celebrated its 3rd Anniversary. To help Hindus in emergencies related to Travel / Health / Admin / Legal/ Religion etc, HHL has a 24 X 7 Call Center & so far over 76,000 Hindus have availed of the service.
‘Hindu Ratna’ Awards are conferred upon Hindus doing great work for the society in the fields of Art Culture / Economics / Science & Tech / Law / Business / Agriculture etc. For 2014, two Hindu Ratna awards were given. One was conferred upon the Institution named ‘Nana Palkar Smruti Samiti’ that extends lodging / boarding / medical checkup services free to the patients & their relatives who come to Mumbai from various parts of Bharat. Shri Arvind ji Khare – Working President of Nana Palkar Smruti Samiti accepted the Hindu Ratna on behalf of the institute.
Hindu Ratna was also conferred upon Smt Sunanda ji Patwardhan, 75 yrs, Secretary – Pragati Pratishthan, for running various educational, health, self-help service projects in the hilly terrain of Jawhar & surroundings in Thane area for the Warli Tribals & others.
Hindu Help Line also launched a special project for women. The name of the project: ‘OJASWINI’. It aims at making women aware of their safety while doing their routing work at home / in public. ‘Ojaswini’ plans to hold small group meetings with many housing societies, women’s groups in varied social strata, Parents – Teachers associations, domestic help organizations, schools / colleges, offices etc to discuss the issues related to their safety, risk zones & solutions. ‘Ojaswini’ will empower women to protect themselves with the help of local police / social organizations. Women & college –going girls who wish to support their families with additional earnings, will be helped by ‘Ojaswini’ in creating safe job opportunities / working from home to earn etc. ‘Ojaswini’ plans to be a ‘Reliable Friend’ of women with whom women will feel free to share their joys & sorrows.
Elaborating on the Hindu Help Line, VHP International Working President, Hindu Help Line Founder & noted Cancer Surgeon Dr Pravin Togadia said, “Hindu Help Line is an emergency service for Hindus. Hindus from anywhere in Bharat can call Hindu Help Line Call Center 24 X 7 for emergencies in Travel / Health / Law / Admin etc. I am glad that over 76,000 Hindus got help in time. From Reaching lunch boxes to the relatives of the patients from remote villages who come to cities for medical treatment to making blood available & from giving an efficient legal aid to sending help to drought affected farmers, Hindu Help Line cares for Hindus. A lot more needs to be done & the Team HHL needs your support on the way ahead. I feel blessed today as the veterans in Social Service Smt Sunanda Tai Patwardhan of Pragati Pratishthan & Shri Arvind ji Khare of Nana Palkar Smruti Samiti came here to accept ‘Hindu Ratna’.“
