A Hindu trader was hacked to death allegedly at Sripatipur Bazar in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha early Wednesday.The deceased is Debesh Chandra Pramanik, reports UNB news agency.Gobindaganj police station officer-in-charge Mozammel Haq said Debesh Chandra Pramanik, owner of a shoe shop, opened his shop around 6:00am.According to the police officer, a resident of the area, Nepen Chandra, stormed into his shop and tried to snatch some shoes from the shop. The OC said Nepen is a drug addict.As Debesh tried to prevent Nepen he stabbed Debesh in his neck with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.Hearing screams, the local people caught Nepen and handed him over to police.
