Hindus demand Sindh to unearth perpetrators

1396921746-8828KARACHI – Hindu community in a string of protests against the attacks on temples in various parts of Sindh has demanded the provincial government to unearth the elements involved.
The participants holding banners, placards were gathered at Karachi Press Club here on Monday.

They said they had been living in Sindh for years without any conflict. “Temples are the historic structures and are older than the partition of Pakistan and India and their sanctity should be respected.”
Terming the incidents a conspiracy against Pakistan, they demanded the provincial government to chalk out a plan to provide security to the worship places of the minorities on immediate basis.

On the occasion, the delegation of religious clerics joined the protest in solidarity with the minorities. They said the attacks on the worship places of the minorities were an attempt to destabilise the country and defame Islam. The elements involved in this conspiracy should be dealt with iron hands, they demanded.

Addressing the participants, Allama Abdul Fareedi said: “Islam preaches peace and brotherhood while the attacks on the temples are completely against the Islam.”
Mufti Abu Hurraira, chairman Majlis-e-Sooat Islam, said they would carry on raising voice for the minorities. The government should realise its responsibilities and provide security to the worship places of the minorities.

Condemning the attacks on the temples, Allama Ehsan Siddiqui said Muslims and non Muslims were both facing insecurity in the country and the attacks on the worship places were an attempt to initiate battle among the residing communities of the country. He stressed upon the need of unity among all the communities to defeat the nefarious plan of the enemies.
All Pakistan Hindu Rights Movement chairman Pandit Haroon Saryab thanked the clerics delegation for condemning the incidents and extending support.

Kalash Sarhadi, Azher Hussain Hamdani, President Muslim League Ulema Mashaiqh Wing, All Pakistan Hindu Punchait Lal Hoja, Engineer Sanober Lal, Engineer Asomal Hochani, Adnan Ahmed Siddqiui, Mahesh Kumar and representatives of civil society were present on the occasion.
