Radha Madhav Dham invites you to come and enjoy the food booths, Bonzo Crunch, inflatables, zorb balls, petting zoo, children’s games, live band and more… during this year’s Holi celebration on Saturday, March 15, 2014, 2:00 pm to 8:00 p.m., in their beautiful, retreat-like setting, located on FM 1826 in south Austin (Hays County) Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors, is an ancient Hindu celebration that has become increasingly popular with non-Hindus throughout the world, including the USA. It marks the arrival of spring’s season of hope and joy, signifies the victory of good over evil, and is considered a time of love and forgiveness. During Holi, people gather together to playfully throw colored powder on one another in good-natured fun, sing and dance in joyous celebration, and enjoy delectably savory dishes and sweets.
Radha Madhav Dham is pleased to welcome everyone who would like to experience this festival’s exuberant and interactive celebration. This year’s festivities will include: food booths offering delicious Indian dishes (chhola bhatura, samosas, pakoras, jalebis), chai (spicy tea); kid games, rides and petting zoo; presentations on Hinduism 101 and the significance of Holi; Indian dance and other cultural performances on the outdoor stage; in addition to Holi play of colors with a Live Band and a Holi bonfire, that symbolizes new beginnings. At the end, there will be a joyful Holi Kirtan program on the outdoor shrine to conclude the ceremonies.
