Madhya Pradesh VHP-Bajrang Dal units ask Hindus not to attend Church services to avert ‘conversion’

The Reality of Church Services

VHP-Bajrang Dal activists prevent Hindus to attend Sunday mass in Satna Church for avoiding ‘Conversion Trap’.

Upendra Bharati | HENB | Satna | May 3, 2016:: The ‘pro-proselytizing’  Express group  is now shedding crocodile’s tear as ‘Right-wing’ Hindu activists of Bajrang Dal and VHP have started asking Hindus not to attend Sunday mass as those are generally harmful to the Hindu society in  many ways.

5 days after they stormed a church and stopped a wedding, VHP-Bajrang Dal activists in Satna town of Madhya Pradesh have announced that they will campaign every Sunday to dissuade Hindus from attending Sunday prayers because pastors “trick them into conversion”.

On Wednesday, a group of Bajrang Dal and VHP activists, accompanied by police, reached the Church of God (Full Gospel) in India in the Sidhharthnagar locality of the town, about 450 km from the state capital, and stopped the marriage between Arun Kushwaha and Subhadra Kushwaha.

CSP (Satna) Sitaram Yadav said then the bride Subhadra was a minor as she was 10 days short of turning 18. He said the couple had converted to Christianity four years ago, but district authorities were not informed, which is a crime under the state’s anti-conversion legislation. Satna SP Mithilesh Shukla also claimed that the girl is “a Hindu and a minor”.

Both Arun and Subhadra come from OBC families according to the list effective in Madhya Pradesh.

Afterwards, the groom and several pastors were booked under the state’s anti-conversion law and for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. They were also booked under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act because ‘Subhadra’s marksheet suggested that she was 10 days short of 18 years’.

On Sunday, a group of VHP, Bajrang Dal and Hindutva Abhiyan (Lahiri Group) activists visited every household in the seven mohallas near the church and raised slogans to “awaken people to the design of Christian missionaries who trick people into conversion by offering to exorcise them”.

“We will prevent proselytizing by the outsider pastors at any cost. No one will attend the Sunday prayers due to our campaign,’’ Bajrang Dal leader Rajbahadur Mishra told HENB. He added that they also raised slogans and peaceful demonastrations outside the church.

Pastor Sam Samuel, who was among those arrested and released later on bail, said police called him up Sunday and asked him to stay away from the church for the day to ‘avoid trouble’. “I adhered their advice and returned to church only at night,’’ he said.

The Hindu activists said they had shared their contact numbers with people living near the church and asked them to inform if they spotted “strangers and outsiders’’ visiting the prayer hall or otherwise trying vilification of Hindu  deities and scriptures.

Meanwhile, a member of MP Backward Classes Commission,  Sri Laxmi Yadav claimed that Arun and Subhadra had given a written undertaking that they were willing to return to Hinduism and marry according to its rituals. But, Pastor Samuel requested them to stay in ‘Jesus Love’.

Afterwards, Arun denied giving any such undertaking as the reports suggest on. Yadav said he had sought legal opinion on whether sedition charge could be invoked against Christians who engage in conversion violating the law of the state. “If the lawyers agree with me, I will soon call a meeting of the commission and recommend to the government to invoke the sedition charge in such cases,’’ he said.

But, Pastor Samuel said he would take legal step against Yadav for his ‘pro-Hindu behavior’ after getting legal help.

In rural and tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh and Chattishgarh, the evangelic groups run their conversion activities with a strength of foreign fund. Lakhs of tribal and poor Hindus are usually trapped ever year with the Christian missionaries. Now, Hindu organisations are ready to give a befitting reply to expose the conversion menace in India. As per their reports, there are 200% increase of Church and Christian service points in Central India during last 20 years.

But, a part of Vatican fed Indian media helps the ‘Conversion Mafias’ in many ways. They never bother about the ‘cultural Crucifixion’ of the poor tribal, SC and OBC people through a ‘conversion conspiracy’.
