Mangalore: Forced sex case – Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) holds protest rally, demands strict action

Mangalore, Dec 28: Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Gurupura Vajradehi Math on Friday December 27 threatened of protests if the persons responsible for the recent Deralakatte kidnap and blackmailing incident are not booked and severely punished.

He was speaking at a protest rally organized by the Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) at Sri Rajarajeshwari Siddi Vinayaka temple premises on Friday.

He questioned why some ‘politically affiliated’ media from Delhi who run to Mangalore even for small matters have now remained quiet. “It is unfortunate to see union minister Sushil Kumar Shinde send a circular to all police stations in the country not to book cases against innocent Muslims. The girl who was the victim of sexual harassment and blackmail should say whether the youth involved in the act are innocent,” he said.

“A conspiracy to divide the Hindu community is on. Is it innocence to have used the friend of the girl for sexual act? A few years ago some youth of our community had slapped a girl in a group to correct her. That incident had made news in international circles and the boys were imprisoned at Bellary jails for slapping her. It is a systematic conspiracy against the community,” he said.

“Some forces have tried to please minorities and have treated Hindus like football. Hindus do not get justice. The district has three ministers but none of them speak against sexual harassment. Schemes such as Shaadi Bhagya, Anna Bhagya etc are only for the minorities. Hindus only have ‘daurbhagya’”. He said that chief minister Siddaramaiah is misguiding the people.

“Hindus will protest against injustice even by sitting on roads. You can book any amount of cases. Your opportunistic politics will not be able to send clear and just message to the students coming from outside the state,” he said.

“The minorities are pushing girls into illegal activities in the name of education hub. The girls are given intoxicating substances and taken undue advantage of. The attempt will not only spoil the name of the district but also the name of the country,” said state convener of Hindu Jagarana Vedike Satyajit Suratkal.

Bajrang Dal convener Sharan Pumpwell said, “The administration of CM Siddaramaiah has shown that he is against the Hindus. Why are activists who protested earlier quiet now?”

A bike and car rally was taken by the activists from Konaje and Talapady prior to the meeting.
