PESHAWAR: Speakers at a seminar demanded of the provincial government to provide security to the places of worship for the minorities in the province.
A follow-up meeting was held at the Peshawar Press Club on “Religious Freedom and Minority” organized by South Asia Partnership Pakistan.Haroon Surab Diyal from the Hindu community, Radish Singh from the Sikh community and Augustin Jacob from the Christian community participated in the seminar.
They demanded of the provincial government to protect their places of worship which have been in dilapidated conditions for the last 67 years. They said that due to security reasons they could not visit the places of worship situated in the city.
They said that the government had announced that it would install CCTV cameras in front of their shops, but it did not complete the task. They also demanded of the government to include their religious subjects in the curriculum.
