Astounding victories are possible
Irrespective of history and geography, a single national political party can drum up enough support to get a simple, clear majority in the national Parliament of a fantastically diverse nation like ours. All excuses are out. Naysayers will crib about the funding and the flights, but it’s all futile now.
Ignore those who say “you can’t”
We all get distracted by critics, don’t we? Even the greatest Indian epic Mahabharata has a poignant side story on how Karna’s charioteer Shalya sows seeds of doubts in the mind of the great archer. But we have a better tale now, and it is not a myth.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going
The claims of development which Mr Modi makes, have taken a lot of time to become a reality. When he joined as CM, he had to go through the previous communal structure of Gujarat, followed by the devastating earthquake in Bhuj. His leadership qualities and decisive nature helped him and Gujarat to overcome the tough times and look ahead for working as a model state. We face a lot of issues when we start our journey, sometimes it’s the parents and relatives who keep pulling you back and at other times, the resource just doesn’t work out and that is a turning point in every person’s journey. The one who can’t fight, fail. The ones who stand tall, are the winners!
Nothing happens overnight
Becoming the Prime Minister of India with majority was not something Mr Modi pulled off overnight… it has been a slow, tiresome and rough 39 years of journey! You have a dream? You are working hard towards it? Congrats, you will get it – not today, not tomorrow, not even the day after! It takes real good time to see your dream become a reality. You should accept this fact and keep fighting the good fight with all thy might!
Have a dream? Pursue it !
There are many who are going to say “This is stupid – don’t daydream “, “What you think is not possible at all”, etc. They say it because they can’t do it – and it does not mean that YOU can’t do it ! It’s your dream and it’s up to you to protect it and pursue it. Always remember : No dreamer is too small – No dream is too Big!
Narendra Modi is a person who is individualistic, as he always wants to do everything in a different way and stand out from the crowd. He has used his individualistic characteristic constructively and has delivered his services with high quality.
Define your ambitions and goals clearly
Rarely in Indian elections have we seen any candidate clearly state what he wants and what he hopes to achieve if he gets what he wants. While others pussyfoot around the idea and act coy, Modi has always been clear he wanted to be PM. This is the main reason why many voters are clear about giving him a chance.
Make a castle out of the stones thrown at you
Mr Modi happens to be one of the most scrutinized politicians/administrators in Indian history. From media to NGOs, everyone wanted to end the Modi-story, but what did he do? He stayed calm and was building a castle of the stones thrown to him, which is now known as The Gujarat Model, making the state a global idol for development. He just cared for the electorate (customers) and was making policies (products) for them. In turn, he was showered with love and votes every time.
Don’t discuss your past
Two examples show that there are many advantages of not looking back at life, at least not in public. For one, howls of protests from his critics, pointed questions by the media, battle-field darts by his rivals couldn’t draw much out of Modi on the post-Godhra riots. And when he did open up on them, he spoke in the language of metaphors with the air of a man detached from the event. Secondly, despite Digvijaya Singh’s best tweets and tarts, Modi didn’t utter a single word on his marital life in public. When the time came, he simply accepted his marriage as a seven-letter formality only on paper.
Ignore the pessimists
As soon as he declared his willingness to serve the country as it’s prime minister, the pessimists began talking about how he was drawing castles in the air, how India was a secular country (and he was not), how BJP should not think of scoring over the long-lived first family of Indian politics, about how he was obsessed with his “Hindutva ideologies”, that he must step back because of the Godhra riot stigma that he still carries and about how India is a country, not a state like Gujarat, and many many more, which he ignored and strodded ahead with his excellent management skills and a team of smart marketers.
A highly determined person who wants to do new things and is not afraid to take risks. Life always throws various challenges at us. It is our determination and will-power which will carry us and help us surmount from the challenges.
