Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday attended the Eknath Ranade Birth Centenary celebrations at Vigyan Bhawan as chief guest.

Praising the RSS leader, Modi said it was an honor for him to get a chance to pay tribute to a great leader who has always been a source of inspiration. “In perfection I doubt that anyone in the Sangh parivar can match Eknathji. He had a unique style of writing daily diary, he wrote conversations he had with people and point out things he could learn from it,” he said.

“He encouraged youth that just being inspired by Swami Vivekananda ji is not enough, we must live like him. He established a memorial worth millions but himself lived in a small room, terrace of which was made of tin. Eknathji always did things keeping future in mind and in a simple manner, he believed every work should be done with public participation,” the Prime Minister said.

He believed in One Life One Mission and he lived on that principle. He always believed in integrating things and people. He was always into his work, kept himself away from promotion and publicity. The basic principle of every work done by Eknath Ranade ji had an expression of ‘uniting’,” Modi said.
