Police foils ULFA’s plan of bomb blast at Kamakhya Temple, finds IED near temple premises

Guwahati : Police on Saturday foiled a big conspiracy of bomb blast by ULFA terrorist group at Kamakhya Temple. According to reports, a cadre of the militant group Deepak Raba was arrested by the police on Friday. Raba informed the police that he had plotted to place a bomb in the Kamakhya Temple on the occasion of “char divashiya mela” and that he had hidden the bomb near Khenamukh area on the airport road. Police found the Imporvised Explosive Devise (IED) near the temple premises after which the bomb was made inoperative by the army’s bomb squad. Kamakhya Temple will hold “char divashiya mela” from 22nd June.
