SACO (South Asian Community Outreach) has arranged an interfaith holiday celebration on Thursday, December 19th at Akbar Restaurant in Edison, New Jersey. Much anticipated event is expected to be attended by members of Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Jewish and other faith groups.
Many prominent politicians and elected officials includingCongressman Frank Pallone, Senator Elect Peter Barnes, Senator Dr. Samuel Thompson,Assemblyman Pat. Diegnan, Assemblywoman Elect Nancy Pinkin, Senator Bob Smith, Assemblyman Elect Raj Mukherji, Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula, Sheriff Mildred S. Scott, Freeholder Charlie Tommaro, Freeholder Jim Polos, Mayor Brian Levine, Mayor Mohamed T. Khairullah, Mayor Henry Owen, and Mayor John Hornick have been confirmed to attend the event.
The event is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM with lots of food, live music and entertainment. Attendees will have the opportunity receives gifts from Santa and take pictures.

Holiday season is also a special time of the year for the South Asian community as its members are very diverse and practice many different faiths i.e. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Sikhism etc. The organizers hope to bring together people of all faiths so they can enjoy the festivities of the holiday season through this event.
