State Urged to Get Back Temple Lands

Hindu-Munnani-leadersVELLORE: N Muruganantham, state organizer of Hindu Munnani, addressing the media on Sunday said, the Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department (CBCID) is not efficient.

Chairing a training camp for new recruits to Hindu Munnani, he said, “Our state’s CBCID is not efficient enough to nab terrorists and infiltrators. The recent arrest of Arun Selvaraj by National Investigation Agency (NIA) proves my claim.”

He also said, the officials of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment (HR & CE) should identify and retrieve temple-lands which were encroached.

“Land belonging to temples are being occupied illegally. HR&CE should act independently and not under the influence of government,” said Muruganantham. In addition he suggested that temples should not collect any fees from public, for special poojas.

Recognising that the present law and order situation in TN was grave due to AIADMK Chief J Jayalalithaa’s conviction, he said, “The AIADMK should face Jayalalithaa’s case legally.”

K Mahesh, Hindu Munnani leader, said, “The one-day training camp was held to initiate and train around 60 new members.”
