AMRITSAR: Unidentified miscreants threw head of a cow near a temple on Wednesday.
According to reports the passerby’s near Shiv Puri crematorium were shocked to find headless body of a cow and its head lying adjacent to a temple near the wall of crematorium.
As the news spread, leaders of Hindu organizations gathered and protested against the heinous act.
While demanding an inquiry and stern action against the miscreants, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Rakesh Madan said that the incident could be aimed at provoking Hindu community ahead of Operation Bluestar anniversary on June 6th.
Deputy Commissioner, police, Parampal Singh said that the body of cow was lying there for past five days. “We have sent the carcass of cow for post mortem and registered a case under section 295 and 429 IPC,” he said, adding that police was on high vigil against any attempt to disrupt peace of the city.
