After the formation of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in 1964, the first Hindu World Conference was organised in 1966 at Prayag, India. Thirteen years later, the second World Hindu Conference was again organised in at Prayag. And after a lapse of 28 years, the third conference took place at Prayag in 2007.
Several World Hindu Conferences have since been organised in different parts of the world. World Hindu Conferences took place in 1984 and 2003 in Sri Lanka and the European Hindu conferences were held in Denmark in 1985, at The Hague in 1988 and in Frankfurt in 1992.
Additionally, a World Hindu Conference was held in South Africa in 1995, the All Africa Hindu Conference in Nairobi in 1998 and the World Hindu Conference in T&T in 2000. This was held at the Cascadia Hotel in Port-of-Spain and hosted by the Maha Sabha. Newly elected Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, attended.
