TUMAKURU: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) passed five key resolutions “for safeguarding the interest of the Hindus and the country,” at the conclusion of the two-day ‘Santha Samavesha’ at Siddaganga Mutt on Wednesday. The meet was organised to mark the golden jubilee of the pro-Hindu outfit.

The convention demanded that the Narendra Modi-led NDA government implement a uniform civil code, completely ban cow slaughter and trade of cattle meat, implement a law to ban religious conversions and declare cow as the national animal. It also demanded dropping of the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2014. The resolutions were prepared following discussions among eight groups of saints during the meeting.
