The American India Public Affairs Committee, in conjunction with American Jewish Committee organized a meeting to commemorate the fifth  anniversary of the 11/26 Mumbai Terrorist Attack. It was a substantive, meaningful, and truly heartwarming example of the partnership between India and Israel.

Consul General of Israel  Hon. Ido Aharoni, Consul General of India, Hon. Dnyaneshwar  Mulay, Jagdish Sewhani, Mr. David Harris, Shira Loewenberg of AJC, Dr. Uma Mysorekar and Shira Loewenberg  stressed the need for India, Israel & America to join forces to fight terror.
India’s Consul General Ambassador Dhyaneshwar Mulay condemned terrorism in all forms.  He said India has been a victim of terrorism for many years before 9/11. He said that we have to fight terrorism together.  The country  that encourages terrorism is also not immune from it.
Israel Consul General Ido Aharoni said that those attacks were very well coordinated, and  condemned them.  He further stated that these attacks have brought India and Israel closer.
Mr. Jagdish Sewhani President of The American India Public Affairs Committee said: We have assembled here to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the November 26 terrorist attack in Mumbai in which 166 innocent men, women and children were brutally murdered by terrorists while property worth millions of dollars was destroyed.
In this terrible attack Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg and his wife, Rivka, who was five months pregnant, were killed by Pakistani Islamic terrorists. As most of you are aware, this terrorist attack was organized by Pakistan’s spy agency ISI in collaboration with the Founder of  Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) Hafiz Saeed, David Headley and several other LeT terrorists. While LeT terrorist David Headley, the plotter of this terror attack, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison by a US judge  in Chicago for playing a key role in the attack, Pakistan’s government has so far taken no action against the mastermind of  the  attack, Hafiz Saeed. He is still a free man, openly inciting  his thousands of followers to teach India and USA a lesson. In this connection I would like to inform you that the US government has offered a $10 million bounty for Hafiz Saeed.

The 11/26 attack in Mumbai has been the most brutal since the 9/11 attack in New York. Five years after the Mumbai attacks, Lashkar-e-Taiba is stronger than ever. Pakistan’s military and its spy agency ISI use this terrorist organization against India according to Bruce Reidel, the fomer CIA counter terrorism expert. He has also revealed that the intention behind this insidious plan was to trigger a war between nuclear India and Pakistan.

Mr. Sewhani further said that in the arc extending from Cairo to Jakarta, India and Israel are the beacons of democracy. These two democratic countries, along with the USA, are under constant threat by terrorists.  Hence, it is the moral duty of the most powerful democracy in the world, America, India and Israel to join hands to fight the onslaught by those whose mannerisms are incompatible with the spirit of 21st Century.

India, Israel and America have been the victims of terrorism for several years–we are natural allies. I believe that if these three countries, along with other victims of terror join hands together we can definitely quash the vicious designs of these religious bigots, concluded Mr. Sewhani.

The civilized world will not be satisfied until Pakistan swiftly concludes the 11/26 trial and gives maximum punishment to its perpetrators.
