Mangalore: The Bajrang Dal Suraksha Pramukh Punit Kottari from Attavar on Thursday,filed a complaint against noted writer UR Ananthamurthy for his alleged derogatory reference to local spirits in his book titled ‘Bettale pooje yake madabaradu.’
According to the complaint filed at the Mangalore North police station it was claimed stated that the writer has hurt his religious sentiments by writing in the book (page no. 37) that he had urinated on stone believed to be of a holy spirit.
Responding to the comment by saying that the organization had not read his book, Mr. Ananthamurthy said that the complaint filed was baseless and meaningless to him. These people are intolerant and -I know- that they will not read my book, which was written 20 years ago, he said.
