Devarshi Narad Jayanti celebrated

Narad_-_Vintage_PrintImphal, May 22 2015 : The 3rd Devarshi Narad Jayanti was celebrated on Friday during a function at Manipur Press Club, which was organized by the Vishwa Samvad Kendra Manipur.

Poknapham daily editor A Robindro Sharma was honoured with Devarshi Narad Journalist Award 2015 .

Makhanal Chaturvedi Patrakarita Vishwa Vidyalaya, Bhopal vice president Prof BK Kuthiala was the chief guest on the event and Vishwa Samvad Kendra Manipur president A Brajagopal Sharma was the president and Head of Department, Mass Communication, Manipur University Dr Ganesh Sethi was the guest of honour.

Making a brief speech at the function, Prof BK Kuthiala stated that a serious problem is ominous in the event of turning media houses into commercial houses.

The professor said there will be no positive aspect of media houses if they are commercialised and called for putting a damper on such practices.

Dr Ganesh Sethi also spoke on the occasion.

He said that becoming professionals in journalism is a challenging task and hence bagging awards in this field is really laudable.

Award winner A Robindro in his speech disclosed that he became an editor without undergoing journalism training.

“I’m really proud of myself in honouring me on this occasion” .

The award carries a certificate and a shawl.

Narada Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Devrishi Narada Muni.

According to Vedic Puranas and mythologies Devrishi Narada is a universal divine messenger and primary source of information among Gods.

Narada Muni has the ability to visit all Teen Loks, Akash or Heaven, Prithvi or Earth and Patal or Netherworld and is believed to be first journalist on the Earth.

Narada Muni keeps travelling across the universe to communicate the information.

However, most of His timely information creates trouble but that is for the betterment of the Universe.

Sage Narada is ardent devotee of Lord Narayana, which is one of the forms of Lord Vishnu.

Lord Vishnu in the form of Narayana is considered an embodiment of the truth.
