FIR registered in Kathirur murder case of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionary

Flag_of_Rashtriya_Swayamsevak_SanghThe Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday registered its first information report in the murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionary E. Manoj before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court.

The case is being investigated by the Thiruvananthapuram unit of the agency.

Details

According to the FIR, Manoj was travelling with a friend in a car on September 1, 2014, at Kathirur when he was attacked by a group of workers of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

The accused have been charged with murder, rioting, unlawful assembly, and provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and Explosive Substances Act.

More persons are expected to be arraigned as accused after the agents conduct an initial inquiry into the murder.
