Kanniks Kannikeswaran is an award winning visionary composer, music educator, and scholar whose work has not only been performed in but also has impacted several parts of the world. He is hailed as the pioneer of the Indian American choral movement and has founded Indian community choirs in nine cities in both North America and Europe. His Epic-Production ‘Shanti – A Journey of Peace’ mesmerized the Houston community in 2010. www.kanniks.com. 

EYS (Education, Youth, Service) and the internationally acclaimed composer, Kanniks Kannikeswaran, collaborate to bring to Houston a grand multimedia musical theater production. CHITRAM tells the story of Indian cultural history “as never told before.” The presentation features an original music score performed by an Indian community choir and choreographed to multi-genre Indian dance forms and stunning imagery. Chitram has been performed in eight other cities and is coming to Houston for the first time.
