Masked men shoot RSS leader dead

Flag_of_Rashtriya_Swayamsevak_SanghINDORE: A local Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader was gunned down by unidentified masked men on Agra-Mumbai highway at Thikri tehsil about 2km from Barwani district on Thursday.

According to the police, around 9.30am Bhalchandra Gupta (55) was going on his bike to attend his routine gathering in Segwal hamlet when unidentified miscreants shot him in the head, which led to his death on the spot. While witnesses of the crime were hard to find, police said that they are tracing call detail records in the nearby location of crime spot.

According to some sources, a trucker had seen two masked men on a bike who shot Gupta early morning. One of his friends also indicated old rivalry with one mechanic living in Thikri of Barwani district. However, police are yet to draw any conclusion.

Barwani SP Jitendra Singh Kushwaha said Gupta was alternate medicine practitioner of the area and was shot at by some assailants who escaped after committing the crime. The dead body was sent for post mortem.
