Missing senior citizen found dead in Nerul

NAVI MUMBAI: A 75-year-old man who had come from Pune to attend his grand son’s engagement ceremony in Koper Khairane and had gone missing thereafter, was mowed down by a unidentified vehicle on the Sion-Panvel highwayon Thursday morning.The victim man identified as Keshav Vinoba Holey, is a resident of Ghorpade Khadakmal Aali in Pune. On Wednesday morning, accompanied by his son Santosh Holey (49), he had come to Koper Khairane for his grandson’s engagement ceremony. On Wednesday evening, during the ceremony, the senior citizen left the house for a stroll. As he did not return till late night, his son and other relatives searched for him and when they could not find him, his son lodged a missing person’s complaint at Koper Khairane poluec station.

Meanwhile, on Thursday around 1.30 am, the Nerul police had found an unclaimed dead body on the Sion-Panvel highway near the DY Patil Sports Stadium.The aged person was mowed down by some vehicle. When Nerul police got to know about the aged man’s missing complaint on the same day, the relatives of Keshav Holey were summoned to identify the dead body. It was confirmed that the dead body was of the missing person Keshav Holey. While, the Nerul police have registered a case against an unidentified vehicle driever for rash and negligent driving causing death of a person, the cops are clueless about why the old man visited Nerul.”
