On the first day of his three-day stay in Hardwar, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday gave special focus on his direct interaction with the saints.
Within Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the holy city Hardwar holds special significance in view of its association with various Akaharas and Peeths of Hindu religion.
Bhagwat is in Hardwar to participate in the RSS’s “Nav Shrijan Shivir” beginning from Friday evening on the premises of Yoga Guru-turned-social-activist Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogpeeth. This is for the first time RSS has decided to use Ramdev’s premises for holding its big camp in Uttarakhand.
Addressing the saints at a function at Jagadguru Ashram in the morning, Bhagwat underlined the need for the direct communication between the saints and the Hindu society. Highlighting three Gs — Geeta, Ganga and Go Raksha (Cow protection) — of Hindu religion, Bhagwat told saints he always tries to know what is in the mind of Hindu Samaj. “Hindu Samaj Ke man Mein Kya hai Janane Ka Prayas Karta hun ( I try to know what is in the mind of Hindu Samaj,” Bhagwat told the saints who gathered at the function organized to mark the unveil ceremony of the statue of Swami Prakashanandji Maharaj.
In an indirect reference to the formation of BJP government with full majority, Bhagwat said the Samaj should be credited for the change. He underlined the need for preservation of Hindu religion, its culture and its society. “Hindu Dahrma, Sanskriti Aur Samaj Ka Sanrakshan Hona Chahiye,” Bhagwat said. He also added the pressure of the Samaj always works.
At the venue of its camp on Patanjali Yogapeeth, RSS has organized an exhibition where it has displayed the contribution of prominent personalities of Uttarakhand. At “Sanskrit Vigyan Pradarshani”, there are Sanskrit words for different articles and electronic items. While ATM card has been translated into Sanskrit as “Dhan Pradatriyantram”, the Sanskrit word for laptop is “Anksangankam”. At the entry gate, the names of Uttarakhand’s kargil martyrs are displayed prominently. There is also one quote of former president APJ Kalam at one board, displayed at the exhibition.
