Subject: Need For Burial For Sachar Committee Report

Mahodaya /Mananiya,

We beg to be excused for this sudden intrusion into your busy schedule. But, our submission, we believe, is important enough to be brought to the notice of you both.

We have seen a press report that the “Kundu Committee”, (The Sunday Guardian”, February 22, 2015) appointed by the former UPA government to find out ways and means to perpetuate and extend further illegal benefits to the minority, already made under the recommendations of the Sachar Committee report. Earlier, the Kundu Committee had sought extension of time as well. The press report under reference (attached) says, “Kundu Committee Willing To Rework Minority Report”. This must be due to the present government finding the report inadequate.

Sir and Madam, our humble submission is not only there needs be any extension to the Kundu Committee, the formation of which itself uncalled for, time has come, rather it is overdue, that the entire gamut of highly discriminatory benefits so far granted to the minorities under the pretext of the recommendations of the Sachar Committee, should be scrapped altogether.

Sir, and Madam, the word “Sachar” has already become a dirty word in the history of India’s communal amity. And, by now, it is known that the Sachar Committee, formed illegally and basically unconstitutional, has been a big fraud on the nation for sheer vote bank politics. As it is known, while this report was legally challenged, (now, at the supreme court) the then UPA government and some state governments went on disbursing such doles to the minorities as if impartially and properly examined, will turn out to be the biggest scam of the UPA regime. The then governments had also taken advantage of the Ranganath Mishra Commission report for this purpose.

Sir and Madam, it may by now be pretty well-known to your ministries that two senior IPS officers, namely, Shri R K Ohri and Shri J P Sharma have since fully exposed the details of what would certainly turn out to be the scandal of the decade. The details are in their research production, “The Majority Report”, widely acclaimed. The case studies annexed to this report drive home the point how discriminated against are the poor Hindus in rural areas, making them feel second grade citizens in their own country.

Manyabar Grihamantriji and Mananiya Dr. Najma A Heptullaji, we would at this stage like to humbly know why the huge and undue privileges to the minorities, as has been explained in one of our brief factual studies of the Census Report of 2001, “Think India” (copy attached), have not yet been scrapped. Incidentally, this small leaflet proves how the Muslims in India are much better off than their Hindu counterparts in terms of four out of five universally accepted human development indices.

The nation has, therefore, a right to know why the “illegally” granted doles are still being continued. Kindly pardon us for raising the question: does the present nationalist government at the Centre also want to use ‘all these” to play vote bank politics? Or, are you in the government apprehensive or scared of any possible backlash from the fast growing Muslim community in the country that has been going through some serious internal churning with possibility of showing up rough edges as post-ISIS impact?

Be that as it may, our humble submission is: no more space for the this most un-called for Kundu Committe and kindly consider how and. how quickly the “undue” benefits to the minorities be stopped forthwith and the bogey of the Sachar Committee be given a “ceremonial” burial. The continuation of the benefits to the “undue” minorities has been an extremely sore point and “disappointing” to the members of majority community, that may not be desirable to the ruling government.

Thanking for your attention and with kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

D.C. Nath
