Background & Requirement:

There has been an influx of more refugee families in Delhi, India and other states after facing severe human rights violations. The sixty persons who were donated footwear were a part of large group who is based at Warirabad Road, Azadpur Mandi, New Delhi, India. The donation of footwear enables individuals to walk comfortably and do work and protect foot from form wear and tear. Many refugees came months ago and carried one or two pairs of foot sandals and shoes which are now worn and torn for many and provide discomfort in walking and doing daily chorus activities. The area near the refugee camps (as can be seen in photos) is rough with pieces of glass, iron clips, stones and dirt which poses threat to foot health. PHRRP Delhi coordinator asked refugees about their priority and demand for footwear was made. In total there are 180 persons who require footwear. Out of 180 , this phase #1 donation covered 60 persons. Rest 120 persons are expected to receive footwear in Phase #2 and Phase#3. Next in Pakistan Hindu Refugee Relief Program (PHRRP) we have a donation of foot wear (shoes and sandals) Phase #2 planned for Delhi based refugee group of 60 persons. Mr. Hemant Sharma – PHRRP Delhi based coordinator is lead for Delhi based PHRRP Team. Also a week ago PHRRP program donated 06 tents at Jodhpur based camp, a press release for that is in progress, stay tuned to www.pakhindurefugeerelief.wordpress.com website for updated information.
