Wadi (Ratnagiri) : On Sunday, the last day of Sri-Kshetra Jyotiba Dev’s ‘kheta’, police beat priest and devotees. Hindus have registered protest against police. (Hindus should not stop at only registering protest, but should raise voice against the incident, in lawful manner, so that they would not be again oppressed unnecessarily ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
1. A police constable started arguing with priests Shri. Suraj Bune and Shri. Amar Nevale on 16th March at 10.00 a.m. when the constable even unnecessarily beat Shri. Bune.
2. The same constable then tried to beat up another priest Shri. Pramod Bhivadarne. (Will police exhibit such impudence with Muslims during their Urus ? And if they show such impudence, do police know its serious after effects ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
3. This enraged local residents and they along with the priests went to the assistant police inspector (API), Sharad Memane about the same. At 10.30 p.m however, a newly recruited constable beat up Nikhil Majgaonkar (age- 11 yrs) and Subhadra Sutar (age – 65 yrs, Res. Aitawade Khurd, Taluka Valva) for no reason. (If such police get beaten up at the hands of fanatics, will Hindus go for their rescue ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
4. The devotees, therefore, surrounded that constable; but he removed his buckle no. and managed to run away.
5. The local residents informed about the incident to MLA Vinay Kore of Janasurajya Shakti Party and they also went to API Memane who rendered apology to the concerned and tried to close the matter.
