Sindh govt announces public holiday for Hindu community

KARACHI: The Sindh government has declared a public holiday for Hindu community on the festive occasion of Deewali. The minority Hindu community will celebrate the annual Deewali event on Sunday.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed electricity officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Sindh cities to facilitate Hindus on the occasion of Deewali.
Khatu Mal Jeevan greets Hindu Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh, Dr. Khatu Mal Jeevan, has greeted Hindu community on the occasion of Diwali.
In a statement on Saturday he urged the Hindu community that while celebrating Diwali they should not forget the martyrs of recent Quetta attack and organize special prayers at all worship places and light lamps for paying homeage to them. Hindu community had always served the country and played vital role in its development�, Dr. Jeevan added.
