VHP, Bajrang Dal seek to cancel Pakistani Singer Shafqat Amanat Ali’s concert in Bengaluru

New Delhi: Going the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) way in targeting artists amid tension between India and Pakistan post the Uri attack, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal in a letter written to the Bangalore police on Wednesday, has asked to not allow Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali to perform on September 30.

The move has come after MNS under the leadership of Raj Thackeray had asked Pakistani artists to leave India and threatened them to the face consequences, if they were going to abide its call.

Though, MNS decision to boycott Pakistani artists was highly criticised, the party remained firm with its stand against the Pakistan artists.

If reports are to be believed, Pak actor Fawad Khan, who was also threatened by MNS, has secretly left the country.

Post the Uri terror attack, where 18 Indian soldiers were martyred, tensions between India and Pakistan are on rise. Meanwhile, New Delhi has also decided to diplomatically isolate Pakistan on the world forum.
