MEERUT: While the eyes of the world are fixed on the US presidential elections, with many hoping for and others dreading a Donald Trump victory, Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha members prayed for Trump’s victory and conducted a havan in this regard at their office on Meerut’s Sharda road on Monday.
Pandit Ashok Sharma, national vice president of the outfit, said, “The thinking and political policies of Donald Trump bear a striking resemblance with that of Nathuram Godse. With the outlook Trump has against radical Islam terrorism, world peace will prevail only if he comes to power.”
To pray for the victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential elections that are scheduled for November 8, a havan with proper Hindu religion customs was conducted on Monday. A banner in support of Donald Trump with his picture was also put up by the Hindu outfit in their office.
Pointing at Trump’s ‘promise’ that India and US will be best friends if he comes to power, Abhishek Sharma, Meerut district president of the outfit, said, “If Donald Trump becomes the president of US, the relations between US and India will improve for the better. Not just this, he has said that he likes Hindu religion. All of this will act as a positive outcome for Indians.”
Asked if they stand in support of Trump despite cases of sexual assault and rape surfacing against him, Ashok Sharma, said, “These are all false allegations. Whenever a person becomes focussed at working for the better of a country, there are people who come up with all types of allegations.”
Ladoos were also distributed at the outfit’s office after the havan.
The outfit was earlier in news for installing the very first Nathuram Godse’s bust in the country at their office on Gandhi Jayanti this year.
