Ponda (Goa) : A poster has been displayed in various parts of Ponda and Mudgaon by Popular Front of India (PFI), a controversial organisation, with an appeal to re-build Babri Masjid. This mosque was demolished on 6th December 1992; therefore, such posters have been displayed in December. A reporter of Dainik Sanatan Prabhat informed Ponda police about the same when they removed posters from some areas; but still there are such posters at many places. Even last year, PFI had put up such posters and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti had lodged a complaint but police made no attempts to find out who were behind display of these posters nor did they take care to see that the posters would not be displayed this year.
On 11th December, a reporter of Dainik Sanatan Prabhat noticed the posters at ‘Goa Bagayatdar Chowk’ and other places in Ponda city. He immediately informed Police Inspector Chetan Patil at Ponda about the same. PI Patil issued an order to remove the posters and police removed them from some places; but in ‘Bagayatdar Chowk’ area, posters are still there. It is learnt that even in Mudgaon, such posters have been found. Last year also, similar posters were put up in these parts of Goa.
Explosive matter written on posters
It is likely that we might forget; but keeping its memories alive is the first step towards protection against fascist powers. Re-build Babri Masjid, re-establish sovereign values.
