Governor, CM extend Diwali greetings

State governor Dr. Ashwani Kumar has extended his greetings to the people of Nagaland on the occasion of Diwali, 2013.

In a message, the governor said Diwali is being celebrated across the country to mark the victory of good over evil. It also commemorates the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after his triumph over Ravana. He prayed that the festival herald peace, prosperity, understanding and harmony.

Chief Minister: Chief minister Neiphiu Rio has also extended greetings on the occasion Diwali. In a message, he said the festival signifies the victory of good over evil and wished the festival be commemorated in a successful and peaceful manner everywhere. Rio said the celebrations may contribute towards unity, understanding and oneness of Naga society.

Tovihoto: Parliamentary secretary for IT&C, science & technology, technical education and taxes extended “warmest greetings” to the Hindu community of Dimapur on the occasion of Diwali.

On the occasion of festival of lights, he appealed everyone to maintain peace and harmony and spread love and brotherhood for the betterment of society. Let’s not only celebrate the day as an annual festival but strive to usher in tranquility, said Tovihoto.
