Hindu appointed as Pakistan minority affairs advisor

Many are commending the decision by the Pakistan People’s Party to appoint a Hindu as an adviser on minority affairs. Former journalist Surendar Valasai is one of six advisers appointed to brief party leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the son of the late Benazir Bhutto. Some say this is a big step for the country as Hindus are considered to be one of Pakistan’s marginalised populations.
