unnamed (1)Plan a program on 21st June for the

International Yoga Day Observance

United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014 declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day. The motion was supported by 177 countries with 175 countries sponsoring the same. It is also the same day as the summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. By the way, this was a smart choice since it’s already a celebrated day for many yogis.

HMEC suggests that all temples plan activities for the International Yoga Day

Below are a few suggestions for the type of activities that may be conducted:

v  Common Yoga Protocol/demonstration of common asanas for 30 minutes and Breathing Techniques

v  Surya Namaskar

v  Meditation Workshop

v  Lecture, presentation and demonstration

v  Meditation for optimal Wellbeing

v  Yoga related activities by various organizations
