Overseas Friends of BJP Australia: Launch

Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) Australia, gladly announces its formal launch in Australia here today. The launch events are being held in Sydney and Melbourne on 23rd and 24th November respectively.

Working on the ideology of BJP and being in close proximity with the senior BJP leadership in India, OFBJP Australia invites people to its Launch Meeting to ‘Meet & Greet’ and explore the ways we all can work together.

So far, OFBJP Australia with great aims and objectives has been running greatly successful campaigns in Sydney and Melbourne and continuously keeping on expanding its operations in Brisbane and Perth also.

OFBJP Australia aims to work towards projecting a positive and correct image of India and its people in the Australian, and correction of any distortions or misrepresentation in the local media or public perception.

We strive to promote the philosophy of ‘Integral Humanism’ and to foster a cordial relationship between Indian and Australian People, by establishing direct communication channels with local, ethnic and national media, and organizing regular seminars on topics of mutual interest.

We see value in strengthening the social bonds in the community, irrespective of background and help to generate a feeling of oneness and brotherhood.

We aim to facilitate the development of a think tank or an advocacy group, to work in the area of national policy making and aligning the two countries’ policies on all different layers possible.

OFBJP Australia recognises a void of political voice for Australian-Indian community and in the representation of Indian sentiments on the political platform in Australia. This has been evident more so in the recent last few years.

By providing this platform to the Australian-Indian community, we aim to fill that void efficiently and fulfil the expectation from the community by working closely with different social, cultural and religious groups.

To progress in this direction, we will work by building strategic alliances with members of business community, political arena and the government agencies.

‘Jago Bharat Jago’ (Wake up India), is a campaign that we recently started aiming to raise awareness among Indian citizens living in Australia on how to exercise their voting rights while being overseas. The campaign has been widely successful so far and has attracted lot of attention.

OFBJP Australia is happy to announce the major upcoming event that we are going to organise in the first week of February 2014. It would be the largest event of its kind in Australia in recent times. The top BJP leaders have expressed their happiness about the development and expected to attend the event, which may see the presence of:

  • Shri Rajnath Singh, President, BJP
  • Dr Subramanian Swamy, Ex Cabinet Minister
  • Shri Arun Jaitley, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha
and few other senior BJP leaders

The event, which would be held in Sydney and Melbourne, is also expected to be attended by top Australian political leaders making the event one of the most significant and unique.

We take this opportunity to reach out to all the related community organisations, media groups, other agencies and individuals to extend the hand of cooperation with the aim of working together.
