The Weston-Wayland Interfaith Action Group (WWIAG) invites local communities to its mid-winter potluck supper and program, taking place on Sunday, Jan. 26 at St. Peter’s Church in Weston from 6 to 8 p.m. The annual event brings a variety of faiths and cultures together for conversation and nourishment.
The topic of the upcoming program is “Reflections on Hinduism.” The guest speaker will be Vaishali Gupta, the Hindu chaplain at Babson, Olin and Wellesley colleges and Brandeis University. She will educate attendees about Hinduism and celebrations in India. Some of her students will join in sharing personal experience.
Gupta grew up in a multicultural environment in Mumbai, India, and was exposed to diverse practices followed within the Hindu religion. She believes in trying to integrate Hindu beliefs into a broader multifaith view. She brings deep understanding of diversity within the Hindu community in India.
